LSI Inc - New Glarus Addition
Past experiences with PDC set the tone for this job. Professionalism, problem solving, and the ability to get the job done on time are their strengths. This job proved no different.
The project entailed adding approximately 18,000 sq. ft. of additional processing, cooler, and maintenance space. The project was Design Build with very short lead times. To make matters worse, very little was known about the electrical requirements for the major piece(s) of equipment planned to go into the addition.
Halfway through the electrical portion of the project we received the final electrical specs for the new equipment. They were quite a bit different from the original "planning" specs given to us several weeks earlier. This is where PDC's true strengths came through. Several systems had to be re-engineered, and, the largest problem was solved by shifting from a conduit based electrical system to an impressive (and cost saving) cable tray system for the new equipment.
PDC shifted manpower as necessary to get the core part of the electrical system installed just prior to the arrival of the first shipment of new equipment. After that, they managed to stay just ahead of the installers, making sure we had power as we needed it.
Somehow, we ended up with an electrical system that is sized for future growth, very flexible, and very clean. In short we are quite pleased with the end result. -- Randall Barr - Plant Engineer, LSI Inc - New Glarus
